The small screen's biggest stars dazzled on the red carpet of the 68th Emmy Awards, held on Sunday night in Los Angeles. Actresses Kristen Bell and Priyanka Chopra impressed the fashion police with their choice of outfit.

There were surprises and snubs galore at the ceremony. Game of Thrones (GoT) won the Outstanding Drama Series award to become the most decorated scripted show in Emmy history with 38 awards over six seasons. Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the show, told a TV channel, "That's just crazy, considering the show nearly wasn't picked up. We've come a long way."

Fargo, the third-most nominated programme in any category, bagged only two awards: sound editing and cinematography. Netflix's flagship drama, House Of Cards, had 13 nominations, but couldn't convert it to wins. Silicon Valley, most nominated comedy series (11 noms), didn't win either. Sherlock: The Abominable Bride surprisingly toppled All the Way by picking Outstanding Television Movie award.

Host Jimmy Kimmel kept attendees entertained and took a bit of heckling from Matt Damon for not getting an Emmy in the talk series category. "I'm sorry, this is so humiliating. You lost and now have to stand out here in front of everybody," he said to Kimmel, biting into an apple, as the audience roared with laughter.

Red hot
Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra shone bright on the red carpet and how! While red is sort of risqué to wear while presenting an award, the actress twirled, swirled and simmered in a bewitching Jason Wu creation. The slight downer came in the form of her hairdo, which we've seen the Quantico beauty don one too many times.

Belle of the ball
Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell looked absolutely enchanting in this Zuhair Murad gown. The floral embroidery was both delicate and striking.

Hello, Miss Sunshine
Taraji P Henson

Taraji P Henson looked fierce and stunning in her messy waves and the nude make-up perfectly complimenting the bright yellow, high-slit Vera Wang gown..

Full bloom
Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland served up the big surprise. Her ensemble screamed 'party on top, business at the bottom'. The quirky ensemble somehow worked in favour of the Modern Family actress who pulled off the outfit with Ă©lan.

Snoozefest
Pink slip
Viola Davis

Viola Davis doesn't disappoint on the red carpet. And yet, the usually well turned out actress made a bit of a blooper when she teamed a neon pink gown and coupled it with bright pink lips.

Twinning done wrong
Ariel Winter

Ariel Winter channeled the Kardashians for her Emmy look. The entire get-up gave us some major show girl vibes which didn't work for the young actress.
