Singrauli (MP): It was a dream-come-true moment for Madhya Pradesh's 20-year-old Nuzhat Parveen, also known as Khushboo, as she became the first woman from the Rewa division to get selected in the Indian cricket squad.

She could make her debut in T-20 against the West Indies on November 18. Nuzhat has also been also selected for the
remaining two matches. Besides, the promising cricketer was also selected as wicketkeeper for the Asia Cup beginning November 27. She got the news of her selection through an e-mail on October 29.

"Till five years back I was not having any interest in cricket, but Divisional Cricket Association (DCA) has inspired me to dream big like every cricketer," Nuzhat told PTI. She was felicitated by DCA on Wednesday. Besides her parents and brothers who are based abroad, Nuzhat gives credit for her success to woman cricketer, Haripriya Das, who guided her through her journey. Nuzhat's father is posted in Northern Coalfield Limited (NCL) at Singrauli. She is an employee of Railways.

DCA Secretary Vijayanand Jaiswal has informed that Nuzhat was also a member of Under-19 MP women's team and she performed well during MP Cricket Association (MPCA) T-20 tournament, following which she was selected by the BCCI for Indian women's ream.
