Saudagar was found to be in possession of brown sugar worth Rs 10,500 by the narcotics cell on Saturday.
“We got the information from an informer about brown sugar being sold close to the Patil Estate slums near Shivajnagar,” Police Inspector (Narcotics Cell) Sunil Tambe said. “Acting on the information, we laid a trap near the area and nabbed Saudagar with brown sugar. We have handed over Saudagar for investigations.”
The police said during the previous arrest Saudagar was found with brown sugar worth Rs 18,000 in his possession.
“We had arrested Saudagar for possessing brown sugar worth Rs 18,000 a couple of months ago, but at that time we could not get more information about his link-ups in the illegal activity,” Tambe said.
“This is the second time we have caught him and he will be interrogated to unearth more contacts and link-ups regarding the brown sugar.”u00a0
