Jind (Har): A man died of cardiac arrest after he was convicted by a court in a cheque bounce case in Jind, police said on Wednesday.

Three Brothers - Ramkaran, Shrikrishna and Shriniwas - were on Tuesday convicted by the court of SDJM Vishal immediately after which Ramkaran suffered cardiac arrest and died in the evening, police said.

Ramkaran's lawyer informed the court about his sudden demise which asked to submit his death certificate on September 4, they said.

The trio used to run a rice export company - RKSK Overseas Pvt Ltd - and gave cheques of total Rs five crore to 26 persons from whom they took loan but the cheques bounced on depositing in the bank, police said.

Ashok, Ramkaran's son, said that his father, who was a director in the company, was unwell for past sometime and he died on Tuesday due to cardiac arrest. He alleged that his uncle Shrikrishna tried to frame his father by lodging a case against him and encroached on properties of the company worth around Rs 82 crore.
