In a bizarre incident on Friday night, Dipesh Bhatt, a 46-year-old businessman fell to his death from the third-floor balcony of a building in Versova when he tried to climb the balcony grill, allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Bhatt was attending a friend’s birthday party at the Magnum Opus building in Versova and police suspect he was drunk.
According to police officials who reached the spot soon after the incident was reported, Bhatt died after slipping from the balcony of flat 302 in the A wing of the building. He was attending a party organised by his friend Mallai Pravin Parekh, who was celebrating his wife’s birthday.

According to the cops, eyewitnesses to the incident, including some people at the party said the deceased was under the influence of alcohol. An officer from Versova police station said, “There were a lot of people at the party and Parekh’s wife even cut a cake. Later the guests were drinking and dancing, when Parekh along with a few others went to the balcony. He tried to sit on the grill of the balcony and fell from the third floor to his death.” Incidentally, actor Aditya Pancholi resides in the same building. Police are investigating the case.
