A 35-year-old man was arrested by Nirmal Nagar police for molesting a 13-year-old mentally challenged girl. He was later let off on bail by the Bandra court
According to the Nirmal Nagar police, the incident occurred when the victim was playing in her neigbourhood on Saturday night. The accused Abdul Sheikh, who works for a private company, was returning home from work. He lured the girl on the pretext of giving her chocolates and then took her to an isolated spot near his home and started touching the girl’s private parts.
In the meantime, the victim’s worried mother started calling out her name and caught Sheikh molesting her daughter. Disgusted, she shouted out for help and soon locals gathered at the spot.u00a0Sheikh was nabbed by the locals and handed over to Nirmal Nagar police. An official said, “Seeing that the girl was playing alone and no one else was present, he lured her by offering her some chocolates.” Sheikh was charged under Section 354 (molestation) of the IPC. He was produced in Bandra court on Sunday where he was released on bail of Rs 5,000.u00a0
