An unidentified person, who posed as a fellow passenger, allegedly drugged a 30-year-old deputy manager with a reputed telecom company and made away with his laptop, a gold chain, debit and credit cards and other important documents. The total value of the booty was pegged at over Rs 1 lakh.

The issue came to light after Nagraj Gurram, a resident of Kharadi, registered a comlaint with officials of the Khadaki police station.

Police officials said Gurram boarded the Pune-bound bus in Hyderabad on September 30. During the journey, his fellow passenger offered him a milkshake when the bus halted near a dhaba at Jahirabad. They said Gurram lost his consciences after drinking the milkshake.

“When the bus was nearing Wakdewadi, the complainant regained consciousness and found that his belongings such as the gold chain, laptop and wallet were missing. Later, someone took him to Khadaki police station. Gurram was still under the influence of sedatives when he approached us and lodged a complaint against the unidentified person,” Police Sub Inspector of the Khadaki police station S K Gaikwad said.
