Stalking and sending lewd messages to a fashion designer in the city has landed a Delhi youth in the slammer at Vinoba Bhave Nagar police station. The youth, identified as Keshav Rajput, 24, a resident of Karol Baug, had allegedly been sending lewd messages to the woman for two months. The 22-year-old designer then decided to create another Instagram account to get rid of him, but Rajput somehow chanced upon the new account and continued his lewd messages. The exasperated woman finally went to the police for help.

In her complaint to the police, the woman, a resident of Kurla, alleged that Rajput had not only been sending her messages, but had also been commenting on her pictures and hashtags. She had even blocked him but he somehow found out about her alternative Instagram account and continued to harass her. According to a police officer, “The police had been investigating the matter for a while and during investigations recovered the IP address of the accused. It was put on surveillance and finally led the cops to Rajput.”

The police, after retrieving the IP address of the accused, found his call data records and then identified his whereabouts and friend circle. The cops learned that Rajput was a permanent resident of Karol Baug in Delhi and a student. Earlier this week, a team of five police officers reached Delhi and nabbed him. “He was brought to the city on Thursday and produced before a court which sent him to police custody,” an officer said.
