A 23-year-old woman was set ablaze by her husband late on Tuesday night at Mahatma Phule Mandai, after she questioned him about his affair with another woman
She sustained serious burn injuries and is recovering at Sassoon Hospital.
The accused, Shankar Gangaram Jogdand (24), has been arrested by Vishrambaug police on the charge of attempt to murder after cops recorded victim Radha’s statement.

Radha, originally from Ahmednagar, married Shankar a few years ago. The couple has an eight-month-old girl. Radha, who suspected Shankar was having an affair, confronted him about his extramarital relationship at the Mandai where he works.
He got furious and threw petrol on her and set her ablaze. Passers-by doused the flames and took Radha to Sassoon Hospital, while the accused fled the spot. He was later nabbed by the police. u00a0
