The three bodies had been seen around Pachu Bandar in Vasai one was found on Sunday, and the second corpse was found on Monday, and the third is still missing. Police managed to identify the second deceased through an ATM card in his pocket.

The man, Pratik Alok Dayal (27), was a software engineer and resided at Samta Nagar, Kandivli (East). In their investigations, police have learnt that Dayal, who stayed with his wife, had fought with her on August 5. He left his house that day and, then, never returned. After waiting for two days, his wife registered a missing complaint at the Samta Nagar police station.

Dayal used to work at a private firm in Andheri. Police suspect he may have committed suicide. Police Sub-inspector Gole from Samta Nagar police station said, “Dayal got married six months ago and was unhappy with his married life. We didn’t find any suicide note from his home, but his wife told us they had fought on August 5. He left home and never returned.”

The Vasai police, after finding his details, contacted the Samta Nagar cops, who then verified the information, Gole added, further saying that Dayal had withdrawn a few thousand rupees from an ATM in Kandivli. The Samta Nagar police have registered an accidental death report in the case. Meanwhile, the first body is yet to be identified. Vasai police are also searching for the third body which villagers had seen, said Senior PI Nandkishor Patil.
