Shekhar Kotian, 35, whose car skidded off a bridge and fell 25 ft into a canal at Palghar on August 10, succumbed to injuries in KEM Hospital at 9 am yesterday.
He had suffered multiple trauma injuries and lost sensation in his legs post the incident.

The incident
Kotian was on his way to Valsad from Koparkhairane when the tyre of his Swift car burst and he lost control. After the car fell into the canal, a dhaba owner had dived in to save his life.
He had fractured his cervical spine and there was internal bleeding in his brain. He was however said to be stable by doctors and was being treated at KEM Hospital since August 12.
Santosh Kotian, his cousin, said, “He was married and was on his way to pick up his wife when the incident took place.”
