Manchester City striker's cab crashes into pole after night out in Amsterdam; sources suggest Argentine star will be out of action for at least two months

Manchester City star Sergio Aguero breaks ribs in car crash

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, 29, has fractured his ribs after a car he was travelling in crashed into a pole last night.

The accident happened in Amsterdam, Holland, while the Argentine footballer was returning to the airport after attending a concert by Colombian singer, Maluma. His cab driver is said to have lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a pole by the side of the road and though Aguero was wearing his seatbelt, he is said to have been badly injured, and had to be carried away in an ambulance.

According to reports, Aguero could miss six to eight weeks due to the injury. This obviously rules him out of tomorrow's crucial English Premier League clash with Chelsea, besides a couple of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for Argentina.

The news serves as a double blow to EPL title challengers Manchester City after the club recently announced that their top defender, Benjamin Mendy, will miss the remainder of the season after rupturing his knee ligaments. The news is worse for Argentina considering they have two crucial World Cup qualifiers, against Peru on October 5 and Ecuador on October 10.
