Paired with boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr, the tennis star came on stage to present the Best Game award. When they got together for their utterances, the sight of 6 foot, 2 inches Sharapova dwarfing the 5 foot, 8 boxer was too much to ignore.

Sharapova 'dodged' Mayweather who was trying to stand alongside here. She then went behind Mayweather and leaned on his shoulders and flashed a broad smile to provide an amusing tall-short sight that made the cameramen happy.

By the way, this is what they said before announcing the nominees: First Sharapova: "Everyone's got their favourite team and favourite players and of course they want to see them win." Mayweather continued: "But that's not why we really love sports.

We love a really good fight. We love the game. Good games keep us on the edge of our seats and the best games make us jump out of our seats." The Alabama vs Auburn Iron Bowl match-up was picked as the Best Game.

Earlier, before Sharapova and Mayweather reached their position on stage, rapper Drake came up with a strange introduction for the tennis star when he yelled, "And from tennis, or whatever… Maria Sharapova." And the Russian quipped: "Wow! Where was my introduction?"

Maria won too
The tennis heartthrob was also an award-winner, claiming the Best Female Tennis Player honour. According to reports, her boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov was in attendance too. Sharapova's glamour factor notwithstanding, the talking point of the sporting show was Swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen.

A report in mirror.co.uk said: "Gorgeous Chrissy, who is married to singer John Legend, opted to celebrate her impressive assets in a bra-less, nude-coloured jumpsuit with plunging neckline.

Hot Chrissy
"The 28-year-old Sports Illustrated model rocked the gravity defying outfit and certainly commanded everyone's attention as she hit the red carpet."
