Does mathematics scare you? Learn how numbers can be fun at the ongoing interactive mathematics exhibition at Max Mueller Bhavan

Mathemagic!

Some people love it, others hate it, but you can’t ignore it. With its various permutations and combinations, mathematics dominates every sphere of our lives. But what if you could understand its basics in a fun, playful manner. An interactive exhibition titled Mathematics that you can touch, at Max Mueller Bhavan (MMB) enables you to do just that. The event, which started on July 23, aims to help adults and kids alike develop a new approach towards the subject.

Visitors will learn mathematics in a playful manner while solving puzzles and building bridges

The event, which is being held in cooperation with Mathematikum, the first interactive museum on Mathematics in the world, has a host of activities that creatively explain mathematics in a simplistic manner. Beata Weber, director of language dept at MMB, says, “Usually we present exhibitions on various aspects connected to German language and culture. But this time we chose Maths as Mathematikum is an experienced partner in conducting events on
scientific topics.”

Weber elaborates that anyone above the age of 12 can participate in this ongoing event. “All the experiments are thought provoking. It involves grasping with hand, head and heart. Visitors solve puzzles, build bridges, unravel riddles, and while doing so, get involved with mathematics in a playful manner.”
