The CIC will now be replaced by Technical Committee, which will be on the lines of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) panel which is headed by Anil Kumble.

The role of the Technical Committee will be to discuss about the rules and restructuring of tournaments. MCA sources indicated that president Ravi Savant will chair the meetings.

The Technical Committee will be a mix of ex-cricketers, umpires and club secretaries. It is also learnt that former India all-rounder Karsan Ghavri will be an integral part of Technical Committee.

The CIC, a brainchild of former MCA president Sharad Pawar constituted in 2000, was entrusted with the responsibility to appoint coaches and support staff for various Mumbai teams.
