Even though winter was delayed due to rains that stretched into November, the cold season has now arrived with a bang. The IMD recorded a minimum temperature of 10.08 degrees Celsius yesterday. This temperature, the lowest this season, was earlier recorded on December 7 as well.
The city recorded the fifth lowest temperature in the state after Nashik (8.1 degrees C), Nagpur (8.5 degrees C), Akola (9.4 degrees C) and Parbhani (9.3 degrees C). A B Muzumdar, Deputy Director General, Weather Forecasting, IMD, Pune, said the temperatur in the city was normal for winter. "There may be a slight fall in the temperature. It will certainly not exceed 12 degrees C in the next three to four days," he said.
Megha Khole, Director, Weather, IMD, Pune said, "We don't expect major changes in minimum temperature as cold winds continue to blow from northern parts of the country," she said.
The IMD predicts the next 48 hours will see maximum temperature of 28 degrees C and minimum of 11 degrees C.
