The fate of the world is in jeopardy and this unusual hero finds himself embroiled in a conflict that will have catastrophic consequences.

What made the filmmakers hire you as Percy Jackson? Was it the swordplay?

I'm not sure, actually. I mean, I think Chris (director Chris Columbus) saw a movie that I did and had this idea that he wanted me to play Percy. I was a huge fan of Chris, so I just jumped at the offer.u00a0

He is a leader; obviously, he is the leader of the group. He's the kind of guy who feels he has to be the strong one in the family. He has a lot of pent up anger about his father abandoning him and his mother. He is angry that his mom, whom he loves, is married to a horrible man named Gabe (Joe Pantoliano).

Why do you think people will relate to Percy?

Percy is just a guy trying to find his place in the world. Then he is thrown into an extraordinary situation, where he has to figure everything out very quickly. He is still a teenager, even though he's a demigod. He is like any other guy you'd see on the street.

What's it like working with Pierce Brosnan, Uma Thurman?

One of the best things about doing this job is that you get to work with your heroes. That was one of the reasons I wanted to get into this business in the first place; working with masters like Pierce Brosnan, Catherine Keener, Rosario Dawson.u00a0

It is a treat; it's just like playing a good tennis match. You know you are playing with the best in the game; they are all truly excellent. Uma Thurman and Pierce Brosnan are amazing icons. But then you meet them and you realise that they are just normal people who are here for the same reason you are; just to make a good movie.u00a0

Why does Greek mythology work well within the framework of this essentially modern story?

The stories of the Greek Gods are still very relevant, and everyone is familiar with them. It is entertainment mixed with education.

How will you deal with the recognition, Logan?

I'm really proud of this film and if people recognise me because of this film, I'm fine with it. That's very flattering.

Any interest other than cinema?

I love music! Everything from classic to rock to hip hop. I've taught myself to play the piano and guitar.
