Chasing Heat’s target of 138 in 20 overs, the Super Kings achieved it with 4.1 overs to spare and bag four points for the win to go top of the Group ‘B’ standings with a total of 12. Brisbane Heat, on the other hand, have lost all their three matches in the tournament and cannot progress to the last four stage.

Put in to bat, Brisbane Heat never really got their act together and kept losing wickets right from the start. The Australian side were reeling at 66-6 in the 13th over when wicketkeeper batsman Chris Hartley (35) and Ben Cutting (42 not out) provided a much needed breakthrough partnership of 71 runs to push them well past the 100-mark.

In response, the Indian side took off brilliantly with openers Michael Hussey (57 not out) and Murali Vijay (42) putting together 75 runs for the first wicket.

Brief scores Brisbane Heats 137-7 in 20 overs (Ben Cutting 42, Ravindra Jadeja 2-18) lost to Chennai Super Kings 140-2 in 15.2 overs (Mike Hussey 57*) by 8 wicketsu00a0
