Located at Guru Nanak Road near Bandra railway station, the mobile store was inaugurated recently on Independence Day. One of the store officials said, “The shop opened just a few days back. We have not earned anything and we are in a big loss due to the break-in. It is shocking that in the middle of such a busy road and much crowd and traffic, the incident took place.”

The Bandra police have registered a case and suspect the two accused to have visited the store earlier since they knew their way well around the store. They were also aware of the sirens installed in several mobile phones.

As per the CCTV footage from three cameras, the two accused entered the store at around 4.30 am. They first broke one lock and opened the shutter. Making their way through a small opening, they managed to enter the store.

One of the accused reached directly for the locker systems and turned off around 8 sirens placed on different mobiles phones. He then proceeded to the drawer where the mobiles were kept. The other accused went straight to CCTV DVR section and terminated the connection. The heist was completed in a span of 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The theft was discovered that morning when an employee found the broken drawer and immediately called the owner following the arrival of the police.

The police said, “We have clear pictures of the accused in the CCTV cameras and hope to arrest them soon. The accused must have visited the shop a few times back and they knew every corner of the shop.”
