Mohol gang members nabbed; 10 revolvers, 83 live rounds seized

In what can be termed as a major success for the Crime Branch of the city police, officials confiscated a large cache of arms from members of Sharad Mohol gang. The police recovered 10 country-made revolvers and 83 live roundss.u00a0

This action was a collaborative effort between the Anti-Organised Crime Cell and Crime Branch Unit IV team led by Police Inspector (PI) Subhash Kutwal and his subordinates. The arrested suspects have been identified Ajay Tukaram Kadu (22) and Anil Khole (22). Both, Kadu and Khole, are residents of Kelwadi and Warje respectively.

According to PI Kutwal, "Acting on a tip-off that Khole was travelling with weapons in his possession, we nabbed him. During interrogation, he spilled the beans and informed us about his accomplice Kadu, who was hiding in Rahu village with nine revolvers in his possession. Moreover, based on the information provided by Khole's relatives in Rahu, we recovered the remaining consignment that was hidden near Daund village."

Rajesh Bansode, DCP, Crime Branch, said, "Kadu is a history-sheeter and has four cases registered against him, including murder, extortion, and under arms act. Currently, it is too early to comment on who supplied them the arms and for what purpose."
