A little more than six months after a day-old baby boy was stolen from Parel's B J Wadia hospital, the aggrieved parents approached the Bombay High Court and filed a criminal writ petition last Thursday
The baby was stolen from Ward No 9 by a woman around 5.30 pm on October 24. The aggrieved parents approached Mohan Krishnan, the president of an NGO named Anti Corruption and Crime Prevention Council in Malad, to help them file a petition in the high court.
“We have informed the authorities that, though an FIR was filed in Bhoiwada police station following the incident, no proper investigations were carried out to trace the baby. We want another investigation to be conducted either by the CID or the crime branch,” said Krishnan.

Advocate Sushan Kunjuraman will represent the couple. The case will come up after the high court summer vacations end on June 9. However, despite repeated attempts to contact Kunjaraman, he remained unavailable for comment.
“We decided on approaching the HC for relief as the culprit is yet to be found and no attempts are being made to trace my baby,” said Devdas Naik, the stolen boy’s father.u00a0
