Sources say Aamir Khan in talks with Amazon Prime to headline magnum opus that has been developed by his creative team.

Even as we wait for Akshay Kumar to kick off the shoot of his web debut, it seems another superstar is gearing up to foray into digital entertainment. Rumours are rife that Aamir Khan is in talks with the suits at Amazon Prime Video for a multi-series magnum opus. A source reveals, "Aamir's team of writers has conceptualised and developed the material. It was recently pitched to the heads of the streaming giant, who have been keen to collaborate with the superstar and looking for a project that is worthy of him. The show is a human interest drama."
Not too long ago, there was buzz that the actor-producer was considering making a web series on the Mahabharat. However, the ambitious project was reportedly put on hold with Khan diverting his attention to Laal Singh Chaddha. So, has the actor revived the idea of retelling the epic for the web? "No, this is a new series. Mahabharat is also in development, but that will happen at a later stage. For now, there are three well-rounded ideas that are being worked upon."
