It was Zeal's 19th minute goal following a goalmouth scramble after a penalty corner penalty corner that helped the Bandra boys win the title after two years.

In the second half, the Matunga lads came out firing on all cylinders but somehow failed to find the equaliser and the Stanislaus boys erupted with joy at the final whistle. St Stanislaus coach Vincent Barnes heaved a sigh of relief after the close encounter.

"It's always nice to beat Don Bosco, but this win is commendable given our boys finished third in this tournament last year. The match was simply too close," said Barnes.

Don Bosco coach Javed Sayed said it a sorry tale of missed opportunities for his boys.

"Today, they played better than us. We missed some clear chances at goal in the second second half and that cost us the title," said Sayed. In the U-10 third place tie, Vishal Kagada's lone goal saw Dominic Savio beat Don Bosco (Borivli) 1-0.

Meanwhile, the U-12 final, which was an all Don Bosco affair, saw Matunga school's 'A' team beat their 'B' team 2-0 to win the Olympian Walter D'Souza League.
