Two college friends were killed on Sunday after a milk van colided with their bike. The duo were out for a spin near Prabhadevi's Kirti college when the incident occured.

While they were rushed to a nearby hospital, the victims were declared 'dead on arrival'. The deceased have been identified as 21-year-old Manish Thakur and 22-year-old Vedant Narvekar.
The two were on their way from Shivaji Park towards Worli, along with a couple of other friends on a separate bike when the tragedy occured. The milk van was found to be speeding right before it turned a corner and crashed into the bike from the opposite direction.
A report in the Times of India quotes senior inspector Diwakar Shelke of the Dadar police station as having stated, "The milk van, which was at a high speed, was about to turn right when its driver crashed into the bike, throwing the two off the bike."
The driver of the van has been identified as Jairam Yadav. The police have booked Yadav for causing death due to negligence.
