Mumbai: A guide to the city's museums
In the age of Google maps which, if it gets the Indian accent right, might even speak to you, does a hand-held, foldable, paper guide to the city's museums works?
In the age of Google maps which, if it gets the Indian accent right, might even speak to you, does a hand-held, foldable, paper guide to the city's museums works? If you are the collectors of all things pretty, then yes, why not?
Kahaani Designworks, which has previously brought to Mumbai maps of its green spaces and heritage pit-stops, in its latest `300 version (the price tag hasn't changed), brings a guide to the museums of Mumbai. There are 11 stops on the map that opens out into an A3-sized sheet and while most of them are the predictable names of south Mumbai, there are a few in surprising locations as well. Chembur for instance does have a museum. But, what is it for? And, would it interest you?
What the map does at the start is let you know which of your interests have been covered. There's much to choose from and discover. Drama, you will find, is not just hidden in the pages of your literature book or afternoon soap. There might be something to discover at the High Court.
How best to use this?
We have three ideas:
A) Pick any Saturday or Sunday, throw a dice on the open sheet and go wherever the number takes you.
B) Gift it to a friend/relative who has come into town and bugs you with what to do in the city.
C) Buy it for your kids to go and discover the city while you get a quiet day at home with said literature or soap.
