Mumbai city lad Vedant Singh wins gold at Asian meet

Fourteen-year-old won three medals including a gold at the 8th Asian Age Group Swimming Championships in Bangkok Thailand recently which saw participation from swimmers of over 25 countries

Fourteen-year-old Vedant Singh won three medals including a gold at the 8th Asian Age Group Swimming Championships in Bangkok Thailand recently which saw participation from swimmers of over 25 countries.

The Mumbai lad, a Class IX student of Arya Vidya Mandir School, won gold in the 800m Freestyle event in the age group of 10-14 years, clocking 8:58.76 seconds.


Vedant, who took to swimming just three years ago, has been training under Glenmark Aquatic Foundation's head coach MS Bushan Kumar at the Rajiv Gandhi District Sports Complex (RGDSC), went on to win two more medals, a silver in the 4x200m freestyle relay and bronze in the 4x100m freestyle relay.
