Mumbai: CR services delayed due to maintenance work
Maintenance work throws train schedules haywire
On Saturday morning, Central Railway local trains ran 10 to 15 minutes behind schedule. Special maintenance work carried out by the Railways caused the delay.
Down-fast service trains leaving CST for Thane and Kalyan stations were diverted to the slow track between 8.46 am to 10.48 am. There was a mega block on Thane-Diva down fast line from 9.30 am to 11.30 am, while services were terminated on Diva-Kalyan (platform 4) Down-fast line 9.45 am-11.45 am.
Trains ran late even in the afternoon. Suresh Patil, a commuter, said, “The authorities had neither informed commuters nor was there an alert on the M-indicator app. So, trains were jam packed and I reached my destination an hour late.”
Despite repeated attempts, Narendra Patil, chief PRO, CR, remained unavailable for comment.
