Mumbai Cricket Association mulls borewell option in crisis

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) swung into action to conserve water amidst the crisis and initiated work on setting up a borewell at their three grounds — Wankhede Stadium, BKC and Kandivli.

"We are in the process of testing the borewell option and once we get a clearer picture, we will put it before the Managing Committee. The aim is to have our own water resources," MCA’s Jt Honorary Secretary Dr Unmesh Khanvilkar told mid-day.

It is also understood that the MCA is planning to divert the sewage line which is close to the CCI, to Wankhede.

The MCA plans to have its own recycling plant to utilise the sewage water and prevent it from going into the sea.
