Mumbai crime: Ola driver flashes in front of woman passenger in Shivaji Park

A 31-year-old woman from Uttar Pradesh, who had come to Mumbai for an interview, was allegedly molested by an Ola cab driver in Shivaji Park area in Mumbai, police said

An Ola driver, who allegedly flashed at a passenger on Tuesday afternoon, was arrested on Wednesday and sent to judicial custody.


The incident took place when the victim, who is an advertising professional, was on her way to Lower Parel for a job interview.


After completing the interview, she reported the matter to the Shivaji Park police, who then arrested the driver Arun Kumar Tiwari, 38, a Thane resident.

Speaking to mid-day, a police officer said, "We traced him with the help of his number. He has been arrested under section 354A (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment) of IPC. After being produced in court, he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days."

She shared a cab
In her complaint to the police, the victim, who is a resident of Ghaziabad in UP, said that on Tuesday afternoon she booked an Ola share cab from Marol, where she was staying with her relatives.

When the cab arrived, she took the front seat, as there were three people at the back.

After the trio got down at Dadar and the cab reached Prabhadevi, suddenly the driver unzipped his pant and started masturbating.

She immediately asked him to stop the car and got down mid-way.

She then took another cab to reach Lower Parel for her interview. After finishing the work, she approached the Shivaji Park police station and filed a complaint in the matter.
