A 55-year-old man was allegedly killed in Sakinaka, Andheri East, late last evening, for taking a dig at his friend's disability. The deceased, identified as Munaf Qureshi, was allegedly stabbed multiple times by the accused Mohammad Iqbal, 25, in Dsouza Nagar, Sakinaka, around 8 pm.

According to the police, Qureshi, an electrician by profession, and Iqbal knew each other for the past several years and lived in the same locality. Qureshi was chatting with his friends, when Iqbal joined them. While chatting, Qureshi allegedly called Iqbal "langda", after which the two broke into a heated argument. The fight got ugly when Iqbal stabbed Qureshi multiple times and fled the spot.

According to sources, locals from the area rushed Qureshi to Rajawadi Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. The Sakinaka Police were informed about the incident, after which the police registered a case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code for murder against Iqbal.

When contacted, Avinash Dharamadhikari, senior police inspector, Sakinaka Police, said, "The police have arrested the accused. Prima facie it appears that Iqbal was upset with Qureshi because he poked fun at his disability."
