The accused, a resident of Goregaon, apparently resented the boy as the victim's mother refused to marry Khan because of her children from a previous marriage
A twenty-five-year-old man, identified as Taher Khan, killed the four-year-old son of his live-in partner, Taslima Sultana Jalalkhan, on Saturday morning.
The accused, a resident of Goregaon, resented the boy as the victim’s mother refused to marry Khan because of her children from a previous marriage.

The 23-year-old mother started living with Taher in Andhra Pradesh for seven months, after divorcing her husband. She had two children from her first marriage — an eight-year-old girl and the deceased, who has been identified as Aayan.
“The four of them shifted to Mumbai three days ago, as Jalalkhan and Khan were hunting for jobs. As both of them were unemployed, Jalalkhan wasn’t ready to marry Khan,” says a source.
She also cited her son as a reason. On Saturday, between 11 and 11.30am, an angry Taher started hitting Aayan in front of his elder sister. He then took the child to Siddharth Hospital where he was declared dead.
The victim’s mother, was not at home at the time of the incident. A murder case has been registered at Bangur Nagar police station.
