The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai has nabbed a drug peddler who supplied mephedrone (MD) to bikers in the city. The Bandra unit of ANC seized 60 gram of MD valued at Rs 1.20 lakh from Sarfaraz Sabirali Khan, alias Bhoora (32) on Friday. After the arrest, Bhoora threatened cops with "dire consequences" saying that thousands would rise in protest and that he would make the cops suffer. Cops suspect that his arrest will break the linkages of drug peddlers with late night bikers in the city, especially Kurla and Bandra area.

Bhoora was arrested after the Banda ANC unit got wind that he would be somewhere near Bohari Kabristan in Kurla West. A trap was laid and the cops caught him. "Bhoora used to be active in electricity theft before venturing into drug peddling business. He got help from college students who told him that late night bikers are interested in drugs, especially MD, which is cheap and easily available," said an officer.

After ANC got information on Bhoora, more intelligence was gathered to confirm his activity. On January 19, he was caughtred handed while waiting for a customer in Kurla.

Bhoora has been booked under relevant section of NDPS act and was produced in court on Saturday, which remanded him to custody till January 24.
