A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his 6-year-old neighbour. The crime occurres when the girl went to play with the man's 2-year-old son.

The accused resided one floor blelow the victims family, with his wife and son. He is reported to have taken the young girl to his bedroom and assaulted her, while his wife was in the kitchen.
A report in the Times of India quotes police sub-inspector Suresh Thorat of the NRI Coastal Police as having stated, "The man took her to his bedroom and allegedly sexually assaulted her when his wife was in the kitchen. Thereafter, he told the girl not to tell anyone. He gave her chocolates and a toy and then took her to the first floor and left her outside her home."
The child later coplained of pain in her private parts to her elder sister. Further examination by family members found her to be bleeding. The sub-inspector is reported to have added, "When the elder sister asked her in detail, she revealed that the 'uncle' staying on the ground floor had harmed her."
The 25-year-old man worked at a fast food restaurant. Based on the girl's statements, the accused has been booked under Sections 6 and 376 for rape and sexual offences and is currently in judicial custody
