40-yr-old had allegedly been sexually abusing his daughter since June, but when she told her mother about it several times, she refused to accept it and asked her to stay quiet
A 40-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly molesting his daughter after the survivor confided in her schoolteacher that he had tried to rape her the night before. Shockingly, the 14-year-old, who was being abused by her father since June, had also complained to her mother, who refused to accept it and told her to remain quiet.
The Dahisar-resident studies in Std IX and her father works as an auto driver and has a part-time job in a private firm. According to officials from the MHB police station in Borivli, the girl’s father attempted to rape her several times and forced her to perform oral sex as well.

“On Tuesday night, the victim’s mother was at work when the accused tried to rape their daughter at home. She raised an alarm, after which neighbours gathered around the house, but she did not reveal anything to them at that time. The next day, she told her teacher in school and asked for her help,” informed a police officials.
After calling up one her friends, who works in an NGO, the teacher helped the girl register the case at MHB police station and the accused was arrested the same night. Cops are also interrogating the mother to find out why she had hidden the truth. The father was produced in court yesterday and has been remanded in three-day police custody.
PSI Bhagyashree Kolekar from MHB police station, said, “The father had been molesting his daughter since June. She told her mother about it, but she refused to help her. Her mother knew the truth but when we asked her to register the complaint against her husband she refused.”
