Wadala TT police nabbed two idli sellers from Antop Hill area for robbing an RTO agent on the pretext of showing him a bike on popular marketplace OLX.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Senior Inspector Jitendra Bhobe of Wadala TT police station said that 21-year-old Suresh alias Parmanabhan Thevar and his associate Phulpandi Murugan Thevar (21) were arrested from Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.

According to Bhobe, 25-year-old Jahangir Yunus Shaikh who is a resident of Kurla had put up an advertisement on OLX stating that he wanted to buy a used Bajaj Avenger motorcycle. He also left his mobile number so that prospective sellers could contact him.

A week after putting up the advertisement, an unknown person called Qureshi and referenced the advertisement to begin a conversation. He then asked Qureshi to come over to the MHADA quarters near Kokri bus depot in GTB Nagar to see the bike.

Shaikh turned up at the spot and found four people waiting for him. When he asked about the bike, the four pounced on him and beat him black and blue. They also took away his 14.7 gm gold chain which was worth over Rs 50,000.
