A 65-year-old man and a labourer were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl repeatedly for four months in Agripada.

The senior citizen, identified as Viltor Prabhakar Vanjare (65), used to lure the girl to his house at Agripada on the pretext of giving her a pen or a chocolate and then rape her. The survivor, an orphan, stays with her aunt in a transit home.

“The senior citizen had been raping her for four months and the second accused, who worked as a labourer at a nearby construction site, saw how the girl was being easily lured by the senior citizen. So, instead of informing the cops he did the same,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-3) S Jaykumar told mid-day.

Hamid Ahmad Khan (22), the labourer, understood what Vanjare was doing and instead of complaining to the cops, he took her to isolated locations after she left home to go to school and raped her. Some locals noticed that and informed her aunt.

They were produced in the Sessions Court yesterday and have been remanded in police custody.
