Cops have booked a 43-year-old woman for allegedly molesting her stepdaughter. The woman allegedly pushed open the bathroom door while the girl was taking a bath, touched her inappropriately
The Kalachowkie police have booked a 43-year-old woman for allegedly molesting her stepdaughter. According to the police complaint filed on Tuesday, the stepmother asked the girl to open the door while she was taking a bath on February 29.
When the child refused to do so, the woman pushed the door open and touched her inappropriately, stated the complaint. When she faced resistance, she pulled the unclothed girl out of the bathroom and began abusing her, said a Kalachowkie police officer.

A cousin living in the house who jumped to the girl’s rescue was also allegedly abused. The girl didn’t tell her father of the sexual harassment.
The cousin raised it with him on March 13, five days after the girl turned 18.
The father and the girl then approached the police on Tuesday and lodged a complaint against the stepmother.

The girl, in her statement to the police, said that in 2013, too, her stepmother had touched her inappropriately during a bath.
“Since the complainant told us that at the time of the alleged sexual harassment, she was underage, we have registered a case under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the IPC. Investigation is on,” said Dilip Ugale, senior inspector of the Kalachowkie police station.
The father had re-married a divorcee a few years ago after losing his first wife to cancer.
