As Delhi was engulfed in a blanket of fog last morning, Mumbai’s flight operation was crippled. Due to the weather conditions in the capital, Mumbai airport witnessed delays, diversions and flight disruptions across the network. A total of 66 flights were delayed and 19 were cancelled across the domestic network.

All the operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport were halted till noon — delaying around 35 flights — as the visibility was below 75 metres.

The flights that managed to take off suffered a delay of around three hours, which affected the flight schedule for the day. The city airport didn't see arrival of any flights from Delhi until noon on Thursday.

Vistara Airline has 10 departures from Mumbai to Delhi, which were all delayed. Only their first flight, which was at 7.30 am, was late by an hours, while others withstood a delay of more than two hours.

Jet Airways' six flights had be cancelled, while three had to be diverted. However, 16 of Jet flights had to face severe delays. The only Mumbai-bound Jet flight from Delhi that was cancelled was 9W 308, which takes off at around 3.30pm from Delhi. However, the diverted ones included 9W 824 (Thiruvananthapuram-Bengaluru-Delhi diverted to Amritsar), 9W 822 (Chennai–Delhi diverted to Lucknow) and 9W 4687 (Ahmedabad - Delhi diverted to Jaipur).
