Mumbai: Kalbadevi martyr's son gets job with fire brigade

The Mumbai Fire Department has offered a junior engineer’s job to Raj Rane, son of Sanjay Rane, the late assistant divisional fire officer who had succumbed to injuries suffered during the Gokul Niwas fire on May 9.

Municipal Commissioner Ajoy Mehta sanctioned the proposal to offer the job to Raj, who is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Electronics degree.

While Raj is slated to appear for his final exams soon, the authorities confirmed that he would be posted in the BMC’s Disaster Management department.

A couple of days ago, CM Devendra Fadnavis had asked the BMC to ensure modernisation of the fire brigade.
