Mumbai: Missing cop died due to head injuries

Constable Vinod Kashinath Pardhi, whose body was found at the Panju area near the Vasai seashore on February 6, 2016, is believed to have died an unnatural death, according to the postmortem report. “The report shows Pardhi’s death was caused by multiple internal injuries in the head and other parts of the body,” said police PRO PSI, Ranjeet Shirsaath, Vasai division of Palghar district. The police has registered an FIR under IPC sections 302 and 201 against an unknown accused.

In January 2016, Pardhi was suspended from office after a woman head constable accused him of outraging her modesty. When he went missing, his family registered a complaint and alleged that he had been murdered when his body was found the next day.

The Vasai police had initially believed that Pardhi had committed suicide.
