A 30-year-old lawyer has been admitted to KEM Hospital and is in critical condition after he tried to avoid a pothole and ended up losing control of his bike. The accident happened on the Wadala CST road near Bombay Port Trust toll naka.


According to Mumbai Mirror, Wadala police sources say Prashant Pashankar was en route to Fort when the accident occurred. He had to swerve suddenly and take a left while avoiding a particularly large pothole when he lost control of his bike with the vehicle skidding and dragging him along for about 50 metres.

Pashankar lost consciousness as a result and was immediately rushed to the hospital by onlookers. The stretch on which the mishap took place was bumpy, uneven and riddled with many potholes.

Prashant Pashankar was reportedly in a semi-conscious state when he was admitted to KEM Hospital. He is a resident of Khandeshwar, Panvel. He decided to travel to Fort in his two-wheeler where he had a meeting since it was a weekend.

Doctors say Prashant has a heavy swelling on his head and seems to slip in and out of consciousness. Despite being unable to talk he is responding partially.

The Wadala Police expect to record Prashant Pashankar's statement once he regains consciousness. They will decide the further course of the investigation and see if a complaint has to be registered in the matter.

Prashant's younger brother Piyush revealed his sibling was about to receive his law degree from the Bar council in a few days. Prashant's family plans to shift him to a hospital near his home in Nerul.
