The inaugural day's races scheduled for Sunday, November 18, have been postponed to a future date which will be announced soon by the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC).
"As a mark of respect to Shri Balasaheb Thackerey, the stewards of the club have decided to postpone the Sunday races," said a communique issued by the race club's office late on Saturday night. MiD DAY learns from sources in the club that the Sunday card may be rescheduled for Tuesday, November 20.
