Some neighbours also rushed out on hearing her. They all tried to chase Kalal, but he managed to escape. The restaurant manager, Narayan Bhataria, said, “Five people work in my restaurant. Kalal had begun to hang around at the restaurant two or three days before the incident, asking for work.

Before that, he used to work at a tea stall and sleep there. As it was Sunday and there was a rush, and I told him to take the order to that place. He didn’t come back.” The tea stall vendor, Kamlesh Kalal, said that the accused used to work for him one year ago.
