Mumbai sees two suicides

Two suicides were reported in Malad and Borivli as a 50 year-old woman and a 36 year-old man hung themselves to death.

On Saturday, a 50 year-old alcoholic woman identified as Shejadi Kadar Shaikh hung herself at 2.30 pm at, her residence in Borivli.

Senior police inspector of Kurar police station, Subhash Dafle, said, “Shaikh was an alcoholic and usually slipped into depression after drinking. She had attempted suicide two years ago by immolating herself, but her family had intervened.”

Meanwhile, in Malad, 36 year-old Kirit Vallabhbhai Solanki was found hanging at his home in MHB colony after a prolonged illness.

According to the police, Solanki was diagnosed with painful kidney stones recently. Solanki was alone at home as his mother and father were in Gujarat.
