Mumbai's left-arm spinner and the Ranji Trophy team's highest wicket-taker of the season, Vishal Dabholkar finds himself out of the Mumbai squad alongwith rookie off-spinner Ankush Jaiswal for the next Ranji Trophy encounter against Gujarat to be played from December 1 in Mumbai.

It is learnt that the spinners' actions attracted the attention of match officials during Mumbai's last match against Madhya Pradesh at Indore where the 40-time champs pulled off a thrilling win.

Mumbai coach Chandrakant Pandit confirmed that changes have been in the squad, but declined to comment on whether Dabholkar and Jaiswal have been dropped due to suspect actions. "The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) secretary is the right person to answer these queries," Pandit told Sunday mid-day.

The secretary Unmesh Khanvilkar did not respond to calls on Saturday.

Dabholkar has claimed 27 wickets in six games with a match-winning performance of seven for 53 against Tamil Nadu last month, while Jaiswal took four on his Ranji debut earlier this week. Dabholkar has been replaced by fellow left-arm spinner Dhrumil Matkar, while wicketkeeper-batsman Sufiyan Shaikh has taken the place of Jaiswal.

The Mumbai team, which has already qualified for the quarter-finals, will play their last league game against Gujarat.
