Riding on double tons from Armaan Jaffer (290) and Khijar Dafedar (208), Mumbai defeated Delhi by virtue of first innings lead (479 runs) to win the All-India Vijay Merchant U-16 knockout trophy yesterday

Electing to bat, Mumbai colts piled on a mammoth 701-7 in 224 overs. Armaan’s knock included 45 fours and two sixes, while Dafedar hit 26 fours and seven sixes. Mumbai then went on to bowl out Delhi for 222 in 75.5 overs.

Delhi batsman Himmat Tejbir Singh’s 157-ball 118 went in vain as he didn’t get any support from other players.
