A woman and her two children were found dead on Saturday afternoon at their Mira Road residence
While the mother identified as Sameeda Ali, hung herself, the bodies of her children — three-and-a-half-year-old Aleena Ali and two-and-a-half-month-old Nurren Ali were found in the bathroom’s water tank.u00a0
Sameeda’s eldest son Yasir Ali (7) notified the neighbours about the incident after he saw his mother’s body hanging from a ceiling fan. The neighbours soon started searching for the two kids and found them in the tank.

The incident took place at Sundar Vihar building, Saibaba Nagar in Mira Road at 4.30 pm. Sameeda’s father-in-law had left to visit the chappal shop owned by his son Asif Ali in Borivli. Meanwhile, police are ascertaining the cause of the extreme step taken by Sameeda and will interrogate Asif in the same regard.
