Gulzar’s trademark humour and wit added life to the proceedings of the event. He was quick to appreciate the role Mitali Singh (Bhupinder’s wife) had played in the formation of their new venture. The veteran lyricist and director however refused to answer questions relating to Bollywood.

He even chided the journalists in a jovial manner. The best part was when a female journalist asked him if women and feminine beauty still continued to inspire him as a lyricist. He replied, “If there were no pretty women in this world, we would have no poets”.
Later on, he also explained some terms relating to ghazals and poetry to the young journalists in the audience. Later on, the event got a musical flavour when Bhupinder Singh sang three songs for the audience. He was accompanied by live musicians. There were quite a few music lovers in the audience, who enjoyed the short music programme.
The duo also went down memory lane reminiscing their association over the years. Gulzar spoke affectionately about Bhupinder and how the latter’s approach to music had changed over the years. The normally reticient Gulzar was in a chatty mood throughout the evening. All in all, it was an event, which music lovers would remember for some time. u00a0
