Eco-friendly idol in Dadar's mini Bengal
The Bengal Club enters its 76th year and promises a mini-Bengal ambience during the Pujo. They have opted for an eco-friendly idol of Goddess Durga and have erected a Vivekananda pavilion. As Shivaji Park has been declared a silent zone, the entertainment programmes have been shifted to Ravindra Natya Mandir.u00a0

Rock meets Baul
Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya's Lokhandwala Durga Puja will feature a fashion show, a Rock concert and Baul mystic songs (influenced by the Bhakti movement and Sufi songs). Don't miss their Dhunuchi dance and the 35 Dhankis (drummers) who will get you in a spiritual frenzy. There will be a Bhoj menu (wedding feast items) for Dashami as well and the decor by Bijon Dasgupta is reminiscent of Kolkata's Gariahat market.

Hail women power
In its 18th year, the Shivrranjani Mahotsav will be as per shastras where women will supervise the rituals, meals and celebrations. Their cultural programmes will feature Rabindra Sangeet, Ank theatre group's play Prashna Panchali and contemporary dance.
