Dear Diana |

Dear Diana, I am 33 and have a two-year-old daughter. Five months ago, my husband was asked to quit his job ufffd something he didn't tell his folks.

'My husband is a good-for-nothing'

As of now, I am running the house which includes my mother-in-law, twice divorced sister-in-law, my daughter and husband. I do not have any issues about running the house. Ours was a love marriage. But I’m tired of having such a good-for-nothing husband. Presently he is doing a part-time job at a distant relative’s office and goes around saying that he is starting a business. What audacity he has!

Dear Sharmila,
Reality has struck and all the romance has gone out of the window. It is clear that your husband is taking you for granted. As you have a steady and well-paying job, he does not have to worry about running the home. But it is important that he contribute to the household income especially because there are dependents. First of all, you need to have a chat with him along with your in-laws. They need to realise what is going on. Your husband has become lazy and this is of utmost concern. He is taking the easy way out. With spiralling costs, it is important that he contribute his share to the household income. Also, learn to say no and do not cater to every financial demand of his.u00a0
